The Author’s Mastermind Academy is for you if…

…you have, or someone you know has had a book trapped inside, yearning to find its way out into the world? Has that book been kept inside for too long because of too many unanswered question, obstacles, or just plain inertia? If so, then the Author’s Mastermind Academy may be for you.

What is Author’s Mastermind Academy?

It is a six-month program that meets once a week. The purpose is to educate, guide, and support authors in the creation and dissemination of their work. It is an extremely comprehensive approach that involves not only the production and marketing of books, but of the creation of quality work of which an author can be proud, and which will earn them an exceptional reputation as a thinker and communicator.

The odd weeks will focus on written communication itself, on language as well as the art and craft of its use. These sessions are intended to be primarily educational. The purpose is to make you a better writer and a better communicator. It will enable you to more effectively convey the ideas you want to share ; it will make your writing more readable and entertaining, too. Readers are much more likely to gain value from your writing if it is well crafted and a joy to read.

On the even weeks we will follow a somewhat classic mastermind format. Participants will each bring their own book projects to the sessions. The group will focus on supporting everyone in the process of writing, publishing, and marketing their work.

The group environment will also provide:

• a close-knit community
• answerability to keep you on track
• brainstorming for solutions to challenges
• inspiration when you get stuck
• support in meeting your challenges
• a family with whom to celebrate your triumphs.
• close contact with others who understand what you’re facing on the path to publication.

This program will be limited to no more than 10 people, and is by invitation only. There is also a vetting process to insure that everyone in the group belongs there. This program is, as you will see below, for those with a strong desire to share their knowledge, imagination, wisdom, know-how, and joy with others through the written word.

To help people decide if this is something they want to do, there are free one-hour mastermind groups available. Participants fill out a questionnaire about their proposed or active book projects and bring them to the group. As with the long-term version, these groups will be limited to 10 or fewer people. Everyone will get one-on-one time with me, as well as group interaction, all for free.

How do I know if it’s for me?

This is for you if:

• You are committed to sharing your vision with others.
• You are determined to do whatever it takes to accomplish this goal.
• You strongly desire to create the highest quality work possible.
• You are willing to have fun and grow in the process.
• You are passionate about a subject or story that you want to share.
• You want to share your abilities and needs with a group of like-minded authors.

This is not for you if:

• You think you might want to write a book.
• You are only willing and able to allow a very limited amount of time to writing.
• You hate writing and avoid it whenever possible.
• You are only mildly interested in any topic that might be of interest to others.

Who is the leader of this group?

I am Ned Johnson, and I am the creator, facilitator, and leader of the Author’s Mastermind Academy. I have been a published author for almost 40 years, and have published dozens of books, stories, and other works of both fiction and non-fiction. For more details, take a look at this page.

What can I expect to gain from this experience?

The basic intent of this program is to provide everything you need to bring your idea, or manuscript, from wherever it is to a publishable work. Obviously, no one can write your book but you. There are no shortcuts in that respect.

However, the Author’s Mastermind Academy is designed to provide both the instruction and support needed to guide and support you in your journey from wherever you are to becoming a successful published author of quality. You will, of course, have to do the heavy lifting yourself, but you will not be alone. The people you will meet through this program, including myself, will be there for you to educate, support, encourage, and inspire you to do what you need to do to bring your dream to life. And we will be there to celebrate your ultimate success.
